“Asked if the Obama administration had ordered that Miranda rights be read to certain detainees, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said, “I have no reason to disbelieve a member of Congress. But I don’t know any of the circumstances that are involved around it.”

But Gibbs acknowledged that it wouldn’t be a surprise to find out that it was happening.”

This is Washingtonese for “Yes, it has.”

So here’s what it means (besides the fact that this socialist cumstain of a president is lying his ass off): if a terrorist runs into a U.S. mess tent in Afghanistan, or into a Starbucks in Richmond, and blows the head off your Marine brother or high school freshman teenage daughter, President Obama’s position is that the perpetrator of this “man-caused disaster” (he won’t call it terrorism; MCD is the administration’s preferred term, I shit you not) shall be read his Miranda rights and, indeed, treated like a shoplifter.

He will then be given legal representation paid for by…citizens of the United States of America.
