Asshole Of The Week…

Scott Fenstermaker

Just because I don’t like his name, and I don’t like his looks. Oh yeah, there was this also:

This is also a picture of a weasel. I mean, really, could this be any more of a harmonic convergence?

MSBNC’s Norah O’Donnell (shown here describing Keith Olbermann’s ratings)

This veteran investigative reporter is at the top of her form, ambushing a 17 year old girl:

All those adults around, and AOTW goes to a kid in an  ”All I Got” t-shirt for a riveting news bite.  Nice.

If you don’t know, that’s Diana Rigg of “The Avengers” with the condom on her head. She’s come a long way, baby. And I, like Todd, have new respect for Daniel Radcliffe.

I Need Your Help Again…

November 11, 2009

How is it that if some asshole yells, e.g., ”Faggot!” or “Nigger!” and then murders the object of his misguided standard, he is guilty of a hate crime, but when another Muslim asshole yells “Allahu Akhbar!” and then murders 13 and wounds 30 more, our president doesn’t want us “jumping to conclusions” that he might be a terrorist?

I always felt that if you murdered (and I use the term “murder” instead of kill for the obvious legal reason) someone, regardless of the reason, you are either crazy, or you hate them, or both.

Referendum…

November 4, 2009

http://www2.timesdispatch.com/rtd/news/state_regional/state_regional_govtpolitics/article/kaine_says_democrats_faced_uphill_battles/303574/

“Kaine said that ‘in each state, the president’s approval ratings are better today than the share of the vote he received in each state in 2008.’“

That is not reflected in the most recent Richmond Times-Dispatch poll, conducted Oct. 28-29, in which Obama’s 43 percent favorability rating matched his 43 percent unfavorability rating. In 2008, Obama received 52.6 percent of the nearly 3.7 million votes in Virginia’s presidential contest.”

This is what is known among some people familiar with a dictionary as a “lie.” Nice try, Mr, Eyebrows.

Fair And Balanced?

November 1, 2009

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/10/23/pub-obama-campaign-promises/

Let’s call a “promise kept” a win, a “promise broken” a loss, and a “promise partly kept,”  “work in progress,” or “not yet addressed” a tie.

Bye Fox’s reckoning, Obama is 4-4-9. Folks, that’s about as fair and balanced as it gets. You may disagree with the support for a given verdict, and you could assign different weights to each verdict depending on their overall importance, but this is what I would describe as a journalistic equilibrium.

It is arguable that “not yet addressed” could be a loss, and the way he has thrown gays under the bus is clearly an unmentioned loss, but Fox doesn’t even go there.
